1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Spherical Luminosity (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, tags, local storage, and software development kits) on our websites. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

2. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies perform comparable functions. They can be set by us (first-party) or by third-party services we use (third-party).

3. How we use cookies

We group cookies and similar technologies into categories. You control which non-essential categories load, through the consent banner that appears on your first visit.

  • Strictly Necessary: required for the website and checkout to function, including payment processing. These are always on and do not require consent.
  • Functional: remember your preferences.
  • Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Marketing / Advertising: support our marketing, personalize offers, and measure our campaigns.

4. The tools we use, and who receives the data

Each tool below is listed with the company that receives the data, its category, and the kind of data it may receive. Except for strictly necessary tools, these are configured to load only in line with your consent choices.

Tool Company receiving the data Category What it may receive
Google Analytics 4 Google LLC Analytics Pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, and a randomly generated identifier
YouTube (embedded video) Google LLC Marketing Video interaction and device information when a video loads, and advertising identifiers
Google Ads (only if we are running advertising) Google LLC Marketing Pages viewed and conversion events, plus advertising identifiers
ActiveCampaign (site tracking) ActiveCampaign, LLC Marketing The pages you view, including before we know who you are. If you later identify yourself, for example by submitting one of our forms, your earlier browsing may be attached to your contact record and used to tailor our emails. This normally reaches back 30 days, and up to a year if your cookies are still present
Deadline Funnel Deadline Funnel s.r.o. (Slovakia) Marketing The pages you view, your IP address, and an identifier, used to run a personalized offer deadline for you. It recognizes you by cookie and IP address, and by email across your devices where we have set that up
Payment Sweetcher (checkout) Jason Go Strictly Necessary Your browser downloads this script from the developer’s server, which discloses your IP address to them. The script itself displays and switches between our card and PayPal payment options. As of our last review it made no onward network calls, and we re-check this as part of our audits
Checkmate (checkout) Jason Go Strictly Necessary Your browser downloads this script from the developer’s server, which discloses your IP address to them. It presents and processes payment options at checkout, and it reports completed purchases to our analytics and advertising tools when those are running
Stripe (payment processing) Stripe, Inc. Strictly Necessary Payment and billing information needed to process your purchase, and fraud-prevention signals. On our store this is Stripe directly; on our course checkout it is Stripe via Kajabi Payments

About Checkmate. It runs on our checkout and does two different jobs: it presents and processes payment options, and it reports completed purchases into our analytics and advertising tools when those are running. Because it forms part of our payment path, it loads on our checkout before you make a cookie choice. We have since reviewed what it does on our live checkout. Apart from downloading itself from the developer’s server, it makes no other outside connections when the page loads, and it only reports into analytics or advertising tools that are already active. Those tools are consent-gated here, so before you make a choice there is nothing for it to report to.

Some of these tools belong to the same company. Google Analytics and YouTube are separate tools but both are operated by Google, so Google may receive data from more than one place on our sites. If we turn on advertising, Google Ads would be a third. Payment Sweetcher and Checkmate are both made by the same developer.

5. Google Fonts

Some of our pages load fonts from Google’s servers. These load when the page opens, before you have made any choice about cookies. This sets no cookies, but the request does tell Google your IP address, your browser and operating system, and the address of the page you are viewing. Google states that it does not use this information to build profiles of users or to target advertising, which is Google’s account of how it uses the data rather than something we can verify ourselves.

This is not required for our sites to work. We are moving these fonts onto our own servers, and once that is done no data will be sent to Google in order to display them.

6. Managing your consent

On your first visit you can Accept All, Reject All non-essential, or set your Preferences. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings link on our sites. Rejecting non-essential cookies will not prevent you from using the site or completing a purchase.

Our main website and our course pages are on separate domains, so each has its own consent banner and your choice on one does not automatically carry to the other. You are asked once on each.

7. The specific cookies we use

A list of the cookies on our sites, including each cookie’s name, provider, purpose, and duration, is available in the cookie settings on our sites. We review and update it periodically.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove a tool. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we will ask for your consent again through the banner.

9. Contact

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
