When I was in high school, my mom decided to go to college.

She’d always dreamed of becoming a doctor when she was a little girl, but back then, where she was growing up in a former British colony in South America, the choices available to her were basically teacher, secretary, telephone operator (for real—that shows you how long ago we’re talking about here!), or nurse.

There was no money to send her to school, so she applied to become a nurse at a hospital all the way in England, where they would train her in exchange for her labor for 3 years.

Even though she worked her way through her credentials, she didn’t have a university degree. And it bothered her.

So when my sister and I were in high school, she applied for and got into a Bachelor of Arts program in Montreal, Canada, where I was born.

My mom was working full time, running the house, being a mom to my sister and me (and all you moms know exactly how much work that is!), and somehow still studying to get her degree part-time.

I honestly don’t know how the heck she did it. And the crazy thing is, she rarely showed signs of overwhelm. WTH?!

It can be easy to feel like there’s too much to do, in too little time, so how do you get out of that feeling of overwhelm?

It’s definitely NOT by doing more!

In this episode, I’m going to share the main distortion patterns that cause that feeling of overwhelm in the first place, 3 helpful tips to get you out of overwhelm, and how to shift how you feel about all that stuff you think you’ve gotta get done and how little time there is to do it all in!

The Group Frequency Calibration® (GFC) I created specifically to accompany this episode will help you to begin to release the distortions that keep you spinning up in your head and in that feeling of “too much to do.”

Without clearing these layers of distortion patterns, you can spin in overwhelm—forever.

If you like this episode, please share it with someone who could use it (in today’s world, that shouldn’t be too hard!).

Let’s rise together!®

SUMMARY:

The way out of overwhelm is NOT doing more—meaning knuckling under and doing whatever it takes to get more done.

Many people think that hammering through and finally completing your to-do list is going to free you from overwhelm.

But have you noticed that your to-do list is never-ending? It doesn’t matter how much you cross off—there’s always more to do than there is time for.

In this episode, I’m going to share the main distortion patterns that cause that feeling of overwhelm in the first place, 3 helpful tips to get you out of overwhelm, and how to shift how you feel about all that stuff you think you’ve gotta get done and how little time there is to do it all in!
