When I was about three, I was playing in the sandbox that was in our little playground, when I found a single wooden match.

I’d never seen one before. 

The tip was a pretty color so for whatever reason, I drew with it on the cement that ringed the sandbox.

It did leave a mark. Sweet!

But shockingly, it also created a flame. Uh oh.

I didn’t know what to do with the fire that was suddenly in my hands. The flame did what flames do and it burned my fingers, so I dropped it. 

Luckily, this all happened in a sandbox (rather than in a pile of dry leaves, for example!) so when I dropped the flaming match, it just went out without causing any real harm. And the experience taught my pain body that fire and my fingers were a very bad mix.

Our pain bodies were meant to be efficiency systems to help us to learn faster, but somewhere along the way things became a little distorted.

In this week’s episode Tia and I talk about the pain body, what it is, how it functions, what it was originally designed to do, how it can mess us up, and how it can change as we resonate at higher and higher levels of resonance.
